Free Process Freezer: Save your data from an unexpected freeze-up

Free Process Freezer is an easy to use free program for suspending (freezing) and resuming processes.

It works similar to Windows Task Manager, but instead of terminating the process, the program allows you to suspend the problematic process and resume it later.

It's a huge pain to lose anything you've been working on to a system crash, but a handy little tool like Free Process Freezer that can save your data from an unexpected freeze-up is a good thing to have in your toolkit, and all the more so that it's free.

The old Ctrl-Alt-Del-and-Task-Manager process is usually enough to terminate a locked-up process, but you can lose whatever you were working on. Free Process Freezer from Polaris Software can help save your stuff when a program quits on you. It suspends or "freezes" running processes and resumes them on command, so that you can extricate your system before it crashes, take care of any problems like conflicts or low resources, and resume your work when things are running more smoothly.

You can just refresh the process list, suspend, and resume a process. It also displays some process info, like process name, ID, and the current status - running or suspended. The total number of currently running processes is also displayed.

This program is very handy when a process is consuming lots of system resources, but you do not want to terminate it. In this case, use Free Process Freezer to suspend the process without losing any data, and resume it later whenever you wish.
